the parliament of India is the supreme legislative power  body of the republic of India. .the term parliament refers to the national legislature .the legislature of the states is described as state legislature .

ARTICLE - 79 :- this article of Indian constitution says that India parliament  keep bicameral legislature

the parliament of India has two houses . when there are two houses of the legislature . it is called a bicameral legislature .. the two houses of the Indian parliament are the council of states on the rajya sabha & the house of the people on the lok sabha .

legislature is not merely a law making body . a parliament has applied a elected system by choosing their representatives . it is center of all democratic political process . it is packed  with action walkouts , protests demonstration & co-operation . legislature also helps people in holding the representatives accountable . this is indeed ,the very basic of representative democracy .

legislature functions - parliament make a law needed for a country money bill & non money bill is introduced in the parliament . while spending of money for the development activities the consent of parliament is essential .

controlling on executive - parliament can control president , vice president , prime minister , & council of ministers through different ways .

financial function - budget is passed by the parliament as well as parliament have divide to tax rate . parliament effect the treasury .

debating functions- all the members are free to speak any matter without foar . it helps to analyse every issues that causes the nation .

constitutional functions - all constitutional amendment should  approved by the government.

electrol functions  - president , prime minister , vice president are elected by the parliament .
