Difference between president power & prime minister power




president 

president is a first person of a country . he is elected by indirectly by an electoral college comprising the parliament of India is both houses . article 53 of the constitution of India states that the president can exercise his power directly or by subordinate authority .

prime minister

A prime minister is the head of a cabinet & the leader of the  minister in the executive branch of government , often in a parliament . the prime minister leader the work of  the cabinet .




Indian president 

qualification to be an Indian president 

1) he should be an  Indian citizen .

2) he should complete at the age of 35 

3) he does not carry any job under central government or state government .

4) he should have the qualification to elect in lok shabha .

election of president 

the president of India is elected by electrol college . they are MLA & MPs .

removal of president of India :- 

president can be removed from the post in case of violation of constitution  areas . this process is called  impeachment .

LEGISLATURE POWER

◆parliament submit always begins with opening address of Indian president .

◆if there is urgent  law is needed so while  the prime minister  recommended to president  to announce the law . it is called ordinance . this duration is only 6 month .

◆president signature is essential to implement a law in our nation  .

EXECUTIVE POWER

◆to appoint of supreme court & high court judges .

◆to appoint states governor .

◆to appoint election comisson of india .

◆to appoint prime minister & council of ministers . 

◆to appoint high officials of  milatery .

JUDICIAL POWERS 

◆president has the power of to increase & decrease the imprisonment period of a criminals . 

◆a prisoner can gave a mercy petition to the president & the president can give pardon to the prisoner .

FINANCIAL POWERS  

◆financial minister can present budget  only asking the opinion of president . 

◆the president appoint the fiance commission . 


EMERGENCY POWER 

NATIONAL EMERGENCY 
Article 352 :-  president can declare national emergency incase of civil war & external aggression .

STATE EMERGENCY
Article 356 :-  the president can declare state emergency in case of  ruling party  lost its majority .

FINANCIAL EMERGENCY 
Article 360 :- if India faces  economics crisis  the president can declare  financial emergency . 


constitutional provision

Article 72 under part v of the Indian constitution empowers the president to grant pardons to persons who have been tried & convicted of any offence in all cases  where the :-

●punishment or sentences is for an offence against a union law .

●sentences is sentence of death 

●punishment or sentence is by the court martial .
