●the general assembly consists of representative of all members states . therefore it has also been called world smallest parliament .

●each country send  five representative to it but it vote is only one .

●important question such as issue  related to peace & security new members need a two third majority for admission & budget decision .

●the regular session of the general assembly starts from the third Tuesday of September every year till the middle of December .

●at the beganinig of each  regular session the general assembly elects  a  new president 21 vice president & the chairmen of the seven main committees of the general assembly .

Security council

security council is the main part of the united nations & in  a way  executive . according  to the united nations declaration is main responsiblity of the security council is to maintain international peace & security for this reason ,as an idiom it has also been called  the police man of the world . it consists of 15 members of which 5 are permanent  member & 10 are temporary members .5 members are permanent america , Russia , France , china,Britain .

economics & social council 

presently the economics & social council has a member ship of 54 .its members have a tenure of 3 years . it is a permanent institution ,but one third of its members are elected every year . but the re-elected . the council has only representative from each member state . decision are made by a simple majority . the economics  & social council meet twice a year in new York  in April & in genera in July . carries out its work  through  various types  of commissions , standing committees & special institution  .

trusteeship 

 the united nations adopted the trust system in place of the mandate system of the united nations  & formed  a trust committee to run it . the basic principle of the trust system  is that at this  time resident  of same backward undeveloped & primitive condition states  are not able to govern  their own country . they require  assistance from other developed  countries . the states to which the trust is entrusted  are the states of Australia,new Zealand the united states & Britain  Russia ,china & France are permanent members  of security  council .

the secretariat handles the day to day work of  the united nations 5 the secretariat is the secretariat  is headed by the general secretary , who is appointed  by the general assembly for the period of 5 years on the recommendation of the security council . the secretary general may also be reappointed .the general secretary  is the chief administrative officer of the organization .since 1 January 2007 south Korea  foreign minister is the new  secretary  general of the united nations .

international court of justice

international court of justice is established on 3 april 1946 in the hague ( netherlands) was done . the international court of justice has five chapters  & 70 articles in the international  court of justice . the numbers of judges  has been kept in this 15 . they are appointed for 9  years after every 3 years 5 judge retire .
